Dynamic motor control during walking in children with acquired brain injury

Project overview

Children with acquired brain injury often experience changes in motor control that affect walking.

This project examined how muscle activation patterns during walking differ in children with acquired brain injury compared to children with cerebral palsy and typically developing peers. In addition, the influence of the timing of the brain injury in the acquired brain injury group on activation patterns were also explored.

Understanding these differences can help distinguish between injury types and support more individualized rehabilitation approaches.
